There are two common causes of high absolute lymphocyte counts and lymphocyte ratios, one physiologic and the other pathologic.
1. Physiological reasons: In terms of physiological reasons, the absolute lymphocyte values of infants and young children are relatively high; also, the absolute lymphocyte values in the afternoon and evening of the day are relatively higher than those at other times of the day.
2. Pathologic causes: The increase in absolute lymphocyte values is commonly caused by various viral infections, such as influenza virus and EBV. When the patient suffers from acute and chronic lymphocytic leukemia, the increase in the absolute value of lymphocytes is often due to the disordered proliferation of lymphocytes.
There may be other reasons for high absolute lymphocyte values and ratios, so it is recommended to go to the hospital in time, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment or therapy.
