Leukocyte 0.4×10^9/L is related to drug use, hypersplenism, aplastic anemia, etc. It needs to be treated according to the cause of the disease, such as stopping the drug, injecting leukapheresis, cutting the spleen, treating the primary disease, allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, or immune-suppressing treatment.
The normal value of leukocyte is (4~10)×10^9/L, and leukocyte 0.4×10^9/L indicates low leukocyte. Low white blood cells are related to the following factors:
1. Drug-induced: such as ganciclovir, carboplatin, etc. Most of the leukocytes can be restored to normal level after stopping the drug, but tumor patients need to be given leukocyte-boosting injections (human granulocyte-stimulating factor) for treatment if the chemotherapy process cannot be stopped.
2. Hypersplenism: serious infections may occur repeatedly, and splenectomy, partial embolization of spleen and other treatments may be given. Secondary ones should be treated for primary disease.
3. aplastic anemia: supportive therapy and disease-specific target therapy may be given. The purpose of supportive therapy is to prevent and treat complications related to hematopoiesis; targeted therapy is to give allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation or immunosuppressive therapy, and the drugs include cyclosporine, anti-human thymocyte globulin, and so on.
Leukocytes 0.4×10^9/L may also be caused by other reasons, such as infections and immune system diseases. It is recommended to improve the relevant examination, clear diagnosis and then give standardized treatment under the guidance of physicians.
