How is a torn meniscus treated?

Regarding the treatment of meniscus tears, there are some debates, some doctors advocate surgery, some doctors advocate non-surgery; it is difficult for patients to choose; I think we cannot generalize, we need to analyze according to the condition: first of all, we need to be clear: the main function of the meniscus: absorbing shock, maintaining the stability of the joint, balancing the movement of the joint trajectory; so meniscus tears, loss of conduction function will lead to joint The second thing we need to understand is that the meniscus is fibrocartilage, which cannot be regenerated and has poor blood supply, so as long as there is blood supply at the edge, there is a possibility of suturing the edge tear; therefore, the treatment of meniscus is firstly diagnosis, which requires the doctor to analyze the type of meniscus tear. The best way to know the type of meniscus tear is through MRI. But as we all know, the MRI report usually says third degree meniscus tear, should we operate on all third degree tears? How can patients determine if their meniscus tears should be operated on? You can refer to the following points: 1. Is there a fixed pain in the joint crease, no pain at rest, pain in a specific position. 2. or the presence of joint locking. 3. Or there is an impairment of joint extension or flexion. If one of the above is present surgery should be performed.
