Diagnosis of children’s nasal discharge

Runny nose in children is generally said to be pathological, and young parents should worry about it in order to provide a basis for doctors’ diagnosis.

6.Green scab-like nasal discharge

Green scab-like secretion is blown out of the nasal cavity, which mostly belongs to atrophic rhinitis.

7.Red nasal mucus

It refers to the nasal discharge with blood or small blood clots, and the nasal discharge is pink in color. Mostly due to nasal trauma, foreign body, vitamin C or K deficiency, etc.

8.Black nasal mucus

It is caused by the inhalation of black dust.

What does it mean when a child has a runny nose for a long time? Some children often have a runny nose, but their parents think it is because their children are often cold and windy, so they take it for granted and do not pay attention to it. Some parents even think that “children are born with a runny nose, so they will be fine when they grow up”. Unbeknownst to them, this kind of long-term runny nose is a kind of pathology, and if it continues for a long time, the child’s health will be damaged.

Many diseases can cause runny nose in children. If children always have runny nose, it means that they must have some local or systemic chronic diseases, such as nasal polyps and respiratory tract infections. If these chronic diseases are not eradicated, the constant runny nose will affect the growth and development of children to varying degrees, making their resistance drop and making them susceptible to various diseases, resulting in more diseases on top of diseases. What’s more, if these chronic diseases are not cured as soon as possible, they may also lead to malignant lesions of tissue cells and tumors.

Therefore, children with chronic runny nose should not be ignored and should go to hospital for examination and treatment as soon as possible.
