Difference between sinusitis and frontal sinusitis

Frontal sinusitis is a type of sinusitis. It includes maxillary sinusitis, sieve sinusitis, frontal sinusitis and butterfly sinusitis; and frontal sinusitis is an inflammatory disease of the frontal sinus. In the clinic you can distinguish the two from the pain site, infection rate, CT findings and treatment. 1. pain site: frontal sinusitis pain is more typical, often manifested as a vacuum pain in the arch of the eyebrow, i.e., the forehead, usually with a headache in the morning and gradually aggravated, which starts to gradually decrease in the afternoon and can even disappear, and then recurs the next day. The pain area of sinusitis is more extensive, and the pain can also be manifested as pain in the face and jaw, deep eye area, top of the head or back of the occipital area, etc.; 2. Infection rate: The infection rate of maxillary and septal sinuses is the highest in sinusitis, then frontal sinuses, and the lowest infection rate is pterygoid sinus; 3. CT examination: Frontal sinusitis can be seen under CT with obvious low-density shadow at the frontal sinus opening and frontal sinus opening blockage. Sinusitis can be seen when the sinus cavity is clean, no obvious low density shadow, turbinate hypertrophy and swelling, CT value is slightly higher; 4, treatment: sinusitis is usually taken conservative treatment, the effect is not good when taking surgery. Frontal sinusitis is usually difficult to cure through drugs, most need surgery to solve.
