How to treat otitis media in children

At present, otitis media is clinically divided into three types of otitis media: secretory otitis media, acute suppurative otitis media and chronic suppurative otitis media.

1.Medication: (1) Secretory otitis media: Initially, you can use ephedrine nasal drops, together with antihistamines and adrenocorticosteroid drugs. If medication is not effective, tympanocentesis is recommended.

(2) Acute suppurative otitis media: First, drain the pus from the tympanic chamber to prevent hearing damage, and then take pain-relieving, sedative and antibiotic drugs according to medical advice.

(3) Chronic suppurative otitis media: It is usually recommended to take antibiotics in water or a mixture of antibiotics and steroid hormones, such as oxyfloxacin ear drops and chloramphenicol cortisone solution. It is also recommended to clean the external ear canal and middle ear cavity before using the medication, and at the same time to prevent complications in life and remove the lesions in time.

2. Surgery: At present, for the treatment of otitis media, minimally invasive surgery is usually used, which can minimize the residual lesions and cause little harm to the organism.

When a child suffers from otitis media, it is recommended that he or she be treated with medication first and then operated on if it is not effective.
