Polycystic ovaries are a condition in which multiple follicles are arranged but no mature follicles are secreted, so successful conception is not possible and the woman cannot have a normal pregnancy. Most of the ovulation test papers available in the market are designed to detect hormones as to whether they are positive or strong positive. It is possible for a single mature follicle to have a high hormone level, but it is also possible for a number of immature follicles in the body to have an elevated level of this hormone, so a strong positive ovulation test does not necessarily mean that conception will be successful.
