Scalp lipomas are relatively common benign lesions in clinical practice. Generally, whether to perform surgical excision treatment for scalp lipoma depends on the size of the lipoma and different symptoms for objective analysis. First, if the patient’s scalp lipoma is small in size, there is no obvious pain, numbness and other symptoms. In this case, it is considered that the lipoma is a benign lesion and can be temporarily observed closely without surgical excision. If the patient has a large scalp lipoma with local pain and swelling, or if the lipoma affects the patient’s aesthetics, it is recommended to have the lipoma removed to avoid more serious complications caused by the progressive increase of the lipoma volume. The patient should be excised along the envelope of the tumor to avoid recurrence of lipoma.
