HPV31 is the human papillomavirus type 31. 31 is a high-risk type of HPV, which can lead to cervical cancer if the infection persists in the cervix for more than 2 years, and if you are positive for HPV31 during cervical pre-cancer screening and negative on TCT, you will be retested after one year. If it is HPV31 positive and the TCT test has mild lesions, colposcopy is the next step. If the TCT test is high grade lesion, the next step is to take a biopsy for pathology under colposcopic observation and if it is still a high grade lesion, a conical hysterectomy is required.
