What are the common symptoms of patients with osteoarthritis?

1, pain: early pain is light, mostly occurs during exercise and relieved after rest; later it is also painful at rest, and often occurs at night. The pain is almost always mild to moderate dull pain, accompanied by a feeling of heaviness, soreness and swelling, which can be aggravated when the condition is serious, resulting in tear-like or pinprick-like pain, which is mostly mild and intermittent at the beginning, and then gradually increases and is persistent, and finally becomes restricted in activity. Pain is related to activity, and rest can reduce pain, while activity, especially weight bearing, can increase it. Certain activities are more likely to cause pain, such as osteoarthritis of the hand, holding objects and opening bottle caps. Hip forward flexion, internal rotation and abduction, cervical extension and rotation, lumbar forward flexion and lateral bending all tend to induce symptoms. The pain is an important symptom of the disease. In some patients, the pain may be radiating. The pain is mostly related to temperature, air pressure, environment and emotion. 2. Localized morning stiffness, relieved after activity: This is also a common symptom of this disease. It is usually not serious and short, mostly a few minutes, rarely more than 30 minutes. Another common symptom is activity restriction, which is also slowly progressive. In the early stage, the symptoms are often mild, only in the morning or after sitting, and can be recovered after activity. As the disease progresses, the symptoms gradually worsen, resulting in a decrease in the range of motion of the joint. Joint popping, joint interlocking, and joint instability may also occur. 3. Swelling: It can be caused by joint effusion, soft tissue degeneration and hyperplasia, or even osteophytes. Mild and moderate swelling is more common. 4, deformity: such as knee osteoarthritis can appear knee inversion, valgus; extension or / and flexion is limited.
