In order to determine whether patients with thyroid nodules are combined with hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism, it can be determined from the clinical symptoms as well as the results of thyroid function tests, and it is recommended to consult a doctor. 1. Hypothyroidism: Many patients lack specific symptoms and signs. Symptoms are mainly characterized by decreased metabolic rate and sympathetic excitability, and early patients with mild disease may have no specific symptoms. Typical patients have chills, fatigue, swelling of hands and feet, drowsiness, memory loss, sweating, joint pain, weight gain, constipation, menstrual disorders in females, or excessive menstruation, and infertility. Thyroid function tests: primary hypothyroidism serum TSH increased, TT₄ and FT₄ are reduced. 2. Hyperthyroidism: the patient may experience body wasting, palpitations, overeating, weight loss, muscle weakness, tachycardia and other such symptoms. Thyroid function tests: TT₄, TT₃, FT₄, and FT₃ may be increased in the patient’s serum, with FT₃ and FT₄ increased more significantly than TT₃ and TT₄, and serum TSH decreased. Patients with thyroid nodules are advised to actively seek medical attention and are not advised to take medications blindly.
