Infants and children are susceptible to papular urticaria, do not panic

Papular urticaria is commonly known as mite dermatitis, in fact, the disease is not entirely caused by mite bites, it is an allergic disease, urban children back in rural areas and small animal contact such as chickens, cats, dogs and rabbits, or to the grass after playing on the body easy to appear, the disease occurs in infants and children, summer and autumn season is prone to high incidence, often in the waist, shoulder blades or limbs in groups of rashes, mostly associated with certain insect bites such as mosquitoes, The rash is mostly related to certain insect bites such as mosquitoes, bedbugs, hoppers, lice, mites, midges, etc. Insects pierce the skin through their mouthparts to suck blood, and the allergic reaction caused by the bite is biphasic; an immediate erythematous reaction, followed by a more persistent papulopapular reaction. The immediate erythematous reaction is shorter in duration, while the papular rash is longer in presence. Some people believe that the delayed allergic reaction, the first bite after sensitization takes about 10 days, when the bite again that the rash occurs. The disease is a symptom that develops on the skin when the body is exposed to an external allergen. The increase in patients with papular urticaria has three triggers: 1, the bite of mosquitoes, mites or ticks on pets; 2, eating high-protein food such as fish, shrimp and seafood, causing gastrointestinal disorders; 3, sleeping on a straw mat in the summer, the bite of mites, midges and other insects hidden in the mat. The disease usually stops around 7 to 10 years old. In addition, there are some drugs that may cause allergies and induce papular urticaria. These drugs include antibiotics such as penicillin, tetracycline, chloramphenicol, streptomycin, sulfonamides, polymyxin, aniracetam, aspirin, etc. The characteristics of papular urticaria: Papular urticaria is characterized by scattered or clustered on the body with small red papules the size of green beans or soybeans, hard in nature, often with small blisters at the top, surrounded by a fusiform red halo, starting as corn-like papules, then developing into soybean to peanut rice, sometimes with blisters in the center of the papules, occasionally visible blood blisters, when the onset, the patient will feel itchy, scratching and itching and easy to secondary infection. Especially at night the attack is more powerful, crying and restless, affecting sleep is very annoying. The disease likes to “pile up” on the trunk and limbs, often in batches. The duration of the disease varies, and often this batch fades on its own and then grows a new batch out, the rash of individual damage disappears in about 7 to 10 days, leaving light brown pigmentation, itching and scratching will crust. Some patients have this repeatedly and gradually heal in the fall when the weather turns cooler. Sometimes several children in a family develop the disease at the same time. If the environment is changed, the disease is soon cured, which indicates the presence of certain allergenic substances in the home environment. What can be done to prevent papular urticaria? The occurrence of papular urticaria is directly related to external triggers, so avoiding these triggers can be prevented: 1. Improve environmental, indoor and personal hygiene to eliminate the breeding of insects that cause the disease and limit excessive protein intake. Treatment of gastrointestinal parasites. 2, children as little as possible to contact pets and less to play in wild places, lawns to prevent mosquito bites. After the mosquito bite, avoid scratching to prevent secondary infection, timely treatment. 3, indoor and outdoor residence can be sprayed with insecticide to eliminate bedbugs, fleas, mosquitoes and other harmful arthropods. But do not use for a long time. Keep the living room dry and ventilated. 4, children’s clothing and bed sheets and pillowcases should be scalded with boiling water. 5, the skin during the disease avoid washing and scalding with hot water, so as not to stimulate after aggravating the disease. 6, should choose a good mat, the best choice of bamboo or rattan mat, do not choose grass mat, because the grass mat is easy to breed mites, grass mat itself is also an allergen, followed by keeping the mat clean and hygienic, before using the mat, the mat should be disinfected at high temperature (boiling water scalding), and then put in the sun, so as to kill the mites and their eggs that are not easily visible to the naked eye.
