What you can’t eat when you have a broken foot

Patients must eat a light diet after foot fracture, and try to eat less spicy and greasy food. You should not drink a lot of alcohol after foot fracture, because drinking alcohol can make the surrounding small blood vessels dilate, which will increase the leakage of tissue fluid from the damaged area and can make the local swelling and pain worse. After the foot is broken, it must be fixed with a cast or brace. During the fixation period, the lower limb must be elevated to help the swelling of the ankle joint to subside and the local blood flow back. Patients can use local heat compresses to improve local blood circulation and accelerate the reduction of sterile inflammation, and can also take regular non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs to relieve painful symptoms.
