Can I eat ice cream with a sore throat?

It is not recommended to eat ice cream when you have a sore throat for the following reasons: 1. If you have a sore throat caused by a cold, you cannot eat ice cream because ice cream can easily induce aggravation of the cold and make it difficult to relieve the symptoms. 2. Some cold patients can have acute purulent tonsillitis or even pneumonia secondary to eating ice cream, so patients can have chills, fever, cough, and aggravation of sore throat symptoms. The ice cream can stimulate and induce the local mucous membrane congestion and edema of the throat to become more serious, which can also make it difficult to relieve the symptoms of sore throat. 4. The high sugar content in the ice cream can induce the increase of sputum in patients, which is not conducive to the relief of the disease. Therefore, patients with sore throat should drink more warm water and avoid eating spicy, stimulating, cold and other foods.
