What are the common complications after craniosynostosis

Common postoperative complications include intracranial hemorrhage, intracranial infection, cerebral edema, gastrointestinal bleeding, and pulmonary and urinary tract infections. Lesions in functional areas may result in epilepsy, speech dysfunction, and limb movement dysfunction after surgery. Lesions in the frontal and temporal lobes may develop epilepsy after surgery. Some lesions in specific areas, such as pituitary tumors, craniopharyngioma, may have vision loss, visual field defects, hyperthermia, confusion, water-electrolyte disturbance, urinary collapse, etc. after surgery. For lesions in the pontocerebellar horn region, there is a possibility of facial palsy, or hearing loss, etc. after surgery.
