What to do if a baby gets a fishbone stuck

Once an infant is stuck with a fishbone, parents must not panic, must be calm and collected, use a flashlight to illuminate the child’s pharynx, use a spoon to press down on the tongue to see if the fishbone can be found, and if it can be found, use a pair of tweezers to gently clip the fishbone out. If you can’t find the fishbone and the baby cries when eating and has other uncomfortable symptoms, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital and have the fishbone removed by laryngoscope or fiberoptic gastroscope under the guidance of a specialist. Do not hope to eat something hard to bring the fishbone down the esophagus to be discharged, which may lead to more serious consequences, such as scratching the esophageal mucosa or even bleeding.
