The Pleasant Pulse is the Slippery Pulse, which is fluent and smooth as a disk. However, the Slippery Pulse can also be seen in phlegm-drinking (pathological products formed by water metabolism disorders), food accumulation (food indigestion and accumulation in the stomach), etc., and should be judged in conjunction with the patient’s other manifestations.
The Pleasant Pulse is the result of pulse cutting in TCM, i.e. the Slippery Pulse. The Slippery Pulse is round and smooth to the touch when the pulse is cut, with beads rolling under the fingers and a fluent pulse. The Slippery Pulse can usually be felt in the second trimester or above, and the pulse can also be used to estimate the duration of pregnancy.
The Slippery Pulse can be seen in the normal pulse of young adults, the Pregnancy Pulse of pregnancy, as well as in pathologies such as phlegm-beverage, food accumulation, and solid heat, and therefore needs to be further differentiated. If a woman has no uncomfortable symptoms, does not suffer from related diseases, and has a history of unprotected sex, menopause, etc., it can be initially judged as pregnancy. The diagnosis should be made by a medical professional who can synthesize all the indicators.
