The side effects of perfusion chemotherapy are less severe than systemic chemotherapy, mainly local irritation, blood cell abnormalities and decreased immunity. 1. Local irritation signs: bladder perfusion chemotherapy may cause bladder irritation signs such as urinary frequency, urinary urgency and urinary pain. Thoracic perfusion chemotherapy may cause pleural irritation such as chest pain and chest tightness. If abdominal perfusion chemotherapy is performed, it may irritate the stomach and intestines causing slowing of gastrointestinal peristalsis, indigestion, diarrhea and constipation. 2. Abnormal blood cells: chemotherapy drugs may damage the blood cells resulting in a decrease in white blood cells, platelets, hemoglobin, etc., but the effect is less than systemic chemotherapy. 3. Decrease in immunity: Damage to normal cells caused by chemotherapy drugs may decrease immunity and lead to infection. Patients who feel unwell during perfusion chemotherapy should respond to their physicians in time to avoid aggravation of their condition.
