When patients have grade VI papillary thyroid cancer, they need to be treated as soon as possible, and specific treatments include surgery, radionuclide therapy, endocrine therapy and immunotherapy. 1. Surgery: total thyroidectomy or subtotal thyroidectomy and selective central lymph node dissection are preferred. Complications such as hypoparathyroidism or recurrent laryngeal nerve injury may occur after surgery. 2. Radionuclide therapy: the rays emitted by iodine-131 can destroy the residual thyroid tissue and cancer cells, therefore, iodine-131 therapy can be used to remove the residual thyroid cancer and treat metastatic foci of thyroid cancer after surgery. 3. Endocrine therapy: after thyroid cancer surgery, in order to prevent hypothyroidism and inhibit thyroid stimulating hormone, patients should take thyroid hormone or levothyroxine for life. Regular checkups are needed to adjust the dosage, and specific drugs should be taken under the guidance of doctors. 4. Immunotherapy: It is still in the clinical research stage. For patients with thyroid cancer that has not been treated with other therapies and the disease is still progressing, it is recommended to participate in immunotherapy related clinical research. When patients suffer from papillary thyroid cancer, please actively cooperate with doctors for treatment.
