The recovery period of stroke is lifelong, and the optimal recovery period is within six months after the occurrence of stroke. It is generally considered that 2 weeks after the onset of stroke is the acute period, 2 weeks to 6 months is the recovery period, and after 6 months is the sequela period, in which the main purpose of treatment in the acute period is to prevent further development of the disease and stabilize the vital signs, and the recovery period and the sequela period are both part of the rehabilitation period of stroke. Rehabilitation of stroke patients is crucial, the best rehabilitation effect is within 1 month after stroke attack, within 3 months is the golden recovery time, after more than half a year, the rehabilitation effect is weakened, but some patients still have the effect, and lifelong rehabilitation training is recommended. Early and active rehabilitation exercises together with medication have a higher probability of restoring the function of hemiplegic patients and improving their quality of life. After the vital signs of stroke patients stabilize, rehabilitation exercises can be initiated during the bed-ridden period, such as regular assisted turning, joint mobility training, etc., together with acupuncture and physiotherapy in TCM to achieve the best results. The rehabilitation period of stroke can last for a lifetime. It is recommended that patients adhere to the rehabilitation training after the vital signs have stabilized, follow the doctor’s instructions, do not stop medication without authorization, and undergo regular review, so as to improve the quality of life of stroke patients and prolong the survival period.
