What to look for in male infertility

The examination of male infertility includes the following: 1. routine semen examination, which assesses semen volume, pH, liquefaction time, sperm density and viability. 2. sperm aberration rate examination, which assesses the normal morphological ratio of sperm after staining. 3. seminal plasma biochemical examination, which is used to assess the function of the reproductive accessory gland and is very important in identifying obstructive and non-obstructive azoospermia. 4. The testicular ultrasound is used to assess the morphological size of the testes and epididymis and to rule out the presence of varicocele.6 Genetic examination is required for azoospermia, severe oligospermia and teratospermia or a history of recurrent spontaneous abortion.
