The main hazards of cardiac imaging are contrast-induced idiosyncratic reactions, side effects such as physicochemical reactions, and nephrotoxicity.
1. Atopic reaction: allergic reaction to contrast agent. Nausea, vomiting, skin itching, urticaria, angioedema, laryngeal edema, bronchospasm, respiratory distress, shock and even death can occur.
2. Physical and chemical reactions: pain, vasodilatation, decreased blood pressure and other manifestations.
3. Nephrotoxicity: most of the contrast agents used in cardiac imaging are generally excreted by the kidneys. Some patients with renal insufficiency or partial damage may have nephrotoxicity, with hematuria, proteinuria, edema and other manifestations.
Cardiac imaging examination should be carried out under the guidance of doctors according to their own conditions.
