How to correct protruding teeth

Protrusion of the dental bed starts with a systematic clinical examination and auxiliary examinations such as X-rays, taking a study model and using data measurements to determine whether the protrusion of the dental bed is due to the teeth or to the jawbone. If the protruding bed is caused by teeth, orthodontic treatment can be performed and the correction can be completed in an outpatient clinic, which takes about 1-2 years. If the protruding bed is due to a bony cause, surgical procedures are required. Surgery generally includes LeFortI type horizontal osteotomy of the upper jaw, surgery of the lower jaw called BSSRO, or sagittal osteotomy of the lower jaw, and surgery of the chin, including lengthening, shortening, and recession of the chin, or anterior chin migration.
