Liver abscess is a purulent lesion formed in most cases after infection of the liver parenchyma by pathogens such as bacteria, fungi, and parasites. The time of formation of liver abscess generally needs to be analyzed according to the cause of abscess formation, individual’s physique and other factors, most of them are around 1~2 weeks or 3~4 months. If the liver abscess is caused by internal tissue damage, coupled with a weak constitution and other underlying diseases, the time to form a liver abscess will be shorter, mostly around 1~2 weeks. If the liver abscess is secondary to appendicitis, etc., it may take longer to form, mostly around 3 to 4 months. After the formation of liver abscess, localized pain, fever and other symptoms usually appear, it is recommended to go to the hospital for timely examination, according to the size of the abscess and the cause of targeted treatment.
