What’s the best way to treat a child who has fallen on his head?

Children who fall on their heads should see a neurosurgeon, or a more prestigious children’s hospital with a branch of pediatric neurosurgery. The child can have an emergency cranial CT to screen for cranial fractures or intracranial hemorrhage and should generally be observed for 72 hours. Children with pale face, purplish blue lips, inability to call out, upturned eyes, trembling limbs, or even clawed hands or frequent projectile vomiting are typical signs of intracranial hypertension with intracranial hemorrhage, and should go to the neurosurgery department of a general hospital to see an emergency physician.
