Typical symptoms of pediatric measles can be categorized into incubation period, prodromal period, rash period, and recovery period according to the duration of illness. 1. Incubation period: generally lasts for 10 days, during which the symptoms of temperature and fever may appear. 2. Prodromal period: generally 3 to 4 days, mainly manifested as symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection, there will be fever, cough, runny nose, conjunctival inflammation, measles mucous membrane spots. 3. Rash period: the rash will appear 3~4 days after fever, the temperature can be as high as about 40℃, the rash will develop gradually from behind the ear and neck to face, trunk and upper limbs, and on the 3rd day, it will involve the lower limbs and feet. The rash will gradually increase, deepen in color, and merge with each other to form an irregular shape. 4. Recovery period: the rash starts to subside in 3-4 days after the appearance of the rash, and the order of subsiding is consistent with the order of the appearance of the rash, during which the child’s spirit and appetite gradually improve, and the body temperature starts to decrease. If the child has measles symptoms, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to avoid delaying the condition.
