The right side of the throat bulge may be related to retropharyngeal abscess, chronic hypertrophic pharyngitis, peritonsillar abscess and other diseases.
1. Retropharyngeal abscess: purulent inflammation of the retropharyngeal space, acute cases can be seen in the retropharyngeal space of purulent lymphadenitis, pharyngeal foreign body and post-traumatic infections, or the spread of inflammation in neighboring tissues into the retropharyngeal space. Chronic onset is most often caused by tuberculosis of the lymph nodes in the posterior pharyngeal space or a cold abscess formed by cervical spine tuberculosis. All of them can be manifested as one side of the posterior pharyngeal wall bulging, such as the right side of the pharynx bulging.
2. Chronic hypertrophic pharyngitis: repeated episodes of acute simple pharyngitis, adverse physical and chemical factors stimulation and other factors cause the posterior wall of the pharynx lymphoid follicle hyperplasia, pharyngeal side of the cord hypertrophy. When the condition is prominent on the right side, the right side of the pharynx can be seen to bulge.
3. Peritonsillar abscess: this disease is purulent inflammation in the peritonsillar space, cellulitis occurs in the early stage, followed by the formation of abscess. In the early stage of periostitis, one side of the palatoglossal arch can be seen to be significantly congested. If the localization is obviously elevated, even difficult to open the mouth, suggesting that the abscess has formed. When it occurs on the right side, a localized bulge is found on the right side of the pharyngeal cavity.
The right side of the pharynx bulge may also be caused by other reasons, it is recommended to actively consult a doctor for systematic examination, clear diagnosis and etiology, timely treatment.
