Diet for patients with different stages of stomach cancer

Patients with early stage gastric cancer should pay attention to giving an easily digestible diet. Food should be fresh, with more fresh vegetables and fruits, and increase the intake of high-quality protein. Stomach cancer itself can affect the digestive function of the stomach, and if care is not taken to give easily digestible food in the diet, it will aggravate the indigestion. The indigestion appeared in the early stage of gastric cancer is mainly caused by the cancer itself, which is poor in digestion of rough food, but not too poor in digestion of protein and fat, so it should be accompanied by a small amount of fiber diet, which is more in line with the patient’s requirements. Middle and late stage gastric cancer patients Middle and late stage gastric cancer is often manifested by symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and paroxysmal pain in the upper abdomen, for this case, in terms of diet, all mechanical and chemical irritants in food should be reduced as much as possible to reduce the patient’s pain, and at the same time, attention should be paid to the diet containing enough nutrients to improve the nutritional status of the whole body, and it is appropriate to consume appetizing and rebellious light diet, such as cane juice, almond milk, by powder, corn, etc. It is advisable to eat a light diet with appetite and rebelliousness, such as cane juice, almond milk, by powder, corn paste, hawthorn cake, millet paste, dates, lotus seed paste, etc. Particular attention should be paid to avoid stimulating diets such as pungent and spicy ones, because these diets can stimulate stomach peristalsis and spasm, increase the degree of stomach pain, and even increase the possibility of stomach cancer spreading and metastasis. Of course, too coarse and fibrous food should also be avoided to prevent stimulating the cancer locally and causing pain and bleeding. When gastric cancer patients have bleeding symptoms, eating should not be too hot, because too hot diet can make blood vessels dilate and aggravate the possibility of bleeding. Some people believe that cold diet can stop bleeding, but cold food can cause stomach spasm and has the disadvantage of aggravating pain. Unless there is a special need, stomach cancer patients should not eat too cold food in general. It is better to add some easily digestible protein and fat to the diet because protein can combine with gastric acid and pepsin to make it lose the ability of self-digestion. Also adding foods rich in vitamin B, vitamin A, vitamin C and other ingredients to the diet as appropriate are beneficial to the body and the condition. When choosing foods that increase vitamin C and other ingredients, all of them are good for the body and the condition. When choosing foods that increase vitamin C, as vegetables, fruits and other varieties contain vitamins, as vegetables, fruits and other varieties contain more fiber. To avoid too much crude fiber in the diet, it is advisable to take fruit juices, vegetables and other varieties containing more fiber. In order to avoid too much crude fiber in the diet, it is advisable to add fruit juice and vegetable juice to the food, and if necessary, the drug vitamin C can be substituted and added to the food for patients. In addition, patients with gastric cancer should eat less and more meals. Eating less can reduce the stimulation of gastric juice secretion and avoid excessive gastrointestinal burden. Multiple meals can ensure adequate nutrition of diet on the one hand, and on the other hand, it can ensure that there is constantly food entering the stomach cavity without the stomach rubbing itself and self-digestion. Some symptoms of gastric cancer invade the pylorus and symptoms of pyloric obstruction will appear, such as fullness, nausea and vomiting after eating, and vomiting a large amount of lodged food after eating 2-3 small meals. For this case, a liquid diet with little but fine should be considered in the diet, and do not eat food with more volume but less nutrition.
