Can gastroptosis heal on its own?

Typically, gastric ptosis does not heal on its own. Gastric ptosis refers to the position of the stomach falling down, as low as the pelvis. It mostly occurs in people with long and thin body type, chronic illness and weakness, and long-term bed-ridden people with little movement. It is mainly related to the function of the ligament of the stomach, the relaxation of the abdominal muscle, the physical condition, and also related to the patient’s own factors, such as the physical condition, the amount of exercise, surgery and so on. Mild gastric ptosis patients have no obvious symptoms, moderate and above patients can show different degrees of epigastric fullness, especially after meals, and accompanied by belching, loss of appetite, abdominal pain and other symptoms. The treatment of gastroptosis mainly focuses on prevention, and patients with mild symptoms should pay attention to strengthening nutrition and eating regularly. Gastric stimulants such as domperidone and mosapride can be used to promote digestion and reduce the residence time of gastric contents to promote gastric emptying. Patients with more severe symptoms can be treated with surgery if necessary. It is recommended that patients with gastric ptosis should consult a doctor in a timely manner for targeted treatment after a clear diagnosis is made. All of the above medications should be taken under the guidance of a doctor and should not be used without authorization.
