What is the dosage of ibuprofen for a 1-week-old baby

Ibuprofen is divided into ibuprofen suspension, ibuprofen granules and ibuprofen capsules depending on the dosage form. 1-week-old babies are commonly given ibuprofen suspension, and the general dosage is 4ml for 1-3 year-old babies weighing about 10-15kg. 4-6 year-old babies weighing about 16-21kg can take 5ml. 7-9 year-old babies weighing about 22-27kg can take 8ml. For older children aged 10-12 years, weighing around 28-32 kg, they can take up to 10 ml. Note that you should not take the antipyretic medicine more than 4 times a day and try to repeat it at intervals of 4-6 hours or more. The most common adverse effects of ibuprofen are nausea, vomiting and liver and kidney damage. So when you choose to give your child fever-reducing medicine, make sure that your child’s temperature is above 38.5°C. If the temperature does not exceed 38.°C, it is recommended to give physical cooling because physical cooling has fewer side effects and is less damaging to the child.
