Baby more than two months, jaundice has not yet receded, may be pathologic jaundice and breast milk jaundice, need to be blue light irradiation, while further blood tests and examinations.
Physiological jaundice will usually subside in about half a month after the baby’s birth. If jaundice still exists in a two-month-old baby, it may be pathologic jaundice and breast milk jaundice:
1. Breastfeeding jaundice: late-onset breastfeeding jaundice usually occurs at the end of the first week, peaks at about 2 weeks, and then gradually decreases. If the baby continues to be fed, the jaundice can be eliminated in 3 to 12 weeks, and the parents need to monitor the baby’s jaundice value, stools, and growth, etc., and pay attention to the observation, active intervention, and follow-up visits.
2. Pathological jaundice: in addition to blue light irradiation, further blood tests and liver ultrasound are needed to rule out biliary tract abnormalities, hepatitis syndrome and other diseases, if it is determined to be the above diseases, it is necessary to cooperate with the doctor for treatment.
2 months baby jaundice has not subsided, it is recommended that parents seek timely medical treatment to avoid delay.
