Ovulatory bleeding is typically characterized by a short period of small bleeding in the middle of the more regular 2 menstrual cycles, lasting for about 3-5 days. The bleeding is caused by the decrease in the level of estrogen secreted by the ovaries before ovulation, which causes a small amount of endometrial exfoliation and bleeding. However, this must be preceded by gynecological ultrasonography, endocrine function tests and routine gynecological examinations to rule out the possibility of abnormal bleeding due to organic diseases. If the amount of bleeding during ovulation is high, you should avoid sexual intercourse temporarily.
