What are the effects of ovarian cysts?

Physiological cysts can change with menstruation and can disappear on their own after menstruation, with little impact on the body. Physiological cysts can also twist and rupture, which may cause severe pain in the abdomen and, if left untreated after rupture, may lead to pelvic infection and, in a few cases, malignancy. If the cyst is pathological, it may be caused by pelvic inflammatory disease, which will gradually increase in size as the inflammation worsens, and may also cause malignant changes and fever, pelvic adhesions, and affect future fertility. The physiological cysts can be left untreated, but if they increase significantly they need to be operated on in time, and pathological examination is needed to rule out malignancy.
