Does a gastroscopy report card say stomach cancer?

Gastroscopy report sheet usually does not directly write stomach cancer. Gastroscopy cannot diagnose gastric cancer clearly, and the specimen taken under gastroscopy and sent to pathologic examination is the gold standard to diagnose gastric cancer, and the gastroscopy report usually does not write gastric cancer directly. Gastroscopy report mainly contains two parts, one is microscopic observation and the other is diagnosis. For gastritis, peptic ulcer, etc., the diagnosis can be made through the performance of gastroscopy. However, for gastric cancer, biopsy is needed to make a clear diagnosis, and gastroscopy can only make a diagnosis or suspicion. If gastroscopy finds elevated, ulcerated or infiltrated masses, deep, large and irregular ulcers and other common manifestations of gastric cancer, gastric cancer can be highly suspected. In this case, stomach cancer is also suspected and biopsy is needed to make a clear diagnosis. Gastroscopy report needs to be interpreted by professional doctors, who will give appropriate diagnosis and treatment according to clinical manifestations, gastroscopic findings and tissue biopsy results, etc. Patients should avoid interpreting and choosing treatment plan by themselves.
