You have to hold your urine for a uterine MRI?

There is no need to hold your urine in order to perform a uterine MRI. MRI is a special imaging method that has excellent diagnostic value for muscle and soft tissue lesions. Generally, women only need to hold their urine for a transabdominal ultrasound, where a distended bladder can squeeze the bowel around the uterus and make it easier to visualize the uterus. However, there is no need to hold urine for either a transvaginal ultrasound or a uterine MRI. There is no special preparation needed before having a uterine MRI; the only preparation is that you should not wear metal objects and you should not have a metal birth control ring inside your uterus. If you have a metal birth control ring in your uterus, you will need to have it removed before the MRI is performed.
