Can you get moxibustion for menstruation?

Moxibustion is not usually needed during menstruation, but for women who experience symptoms such as irregular menstruation and menstrual cramps caused by cold condensation and qi deficiency, moxibustion can be used and can improve the discomfort.
Moxibustion is the use of moxa leaves and other flammable materials or medicines, lit and burned or smoked on the acupuncture points, to achieve the purpose of prevention and treatment of disease. It has the functions of warming menstruation and dispersing cold, dispersing wind and relieving epidemics, tonifying the middle and benefiting qi (treating qi deficiency by tonifying the spleen), and supporting yang and fixing prolapse (treating prolapsed type of diseases by tonifying yang qi).
If there is no abnormality during menstruation, moxibustion is not necessary. For qi deficiency, moxibustion can be performed on Foot Sanli, Qi Hai, Spleen Yu and other points; for cold evidence, moxibustion can be performed on Shen Que and Guan Yuan points.
