Is it okay to leave adenomyomas untreated?

Whether or not adenomyoma needs treatment is related to the number, size, and presence or absence of symptoms of adenomyoma. If the adenomyoma is single, small in size, and has no discomfort, it can be observed temporarily, but if the adenomyoma is multiple, large in size, and has discomfort, it needs to be treated.
Adenomyoma is a benign lesion in which the endometrium intrudes into the myometrium in a limited way, which may cause reactive hyperplasia of the muscle fibers around the intruded endometrium.
If the adenomyoma is single and small in size, and the body does not show any significant changes in menstrual pain or menstrual flow, it can be left untreated but should be reviewed regularly.
If the adenomyoma is multiple and large in size, and symptoms such as heavy menstrual flow, obvious menstrual pain or pressure symptoms occur, treatment is needed.
If a woman has adenomyoma, it is recommended to go to the hospital for a systematic examination and choose the appropriate treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
