Epilepsy is a chronic brain dysfunction syndrome caused by multiple etiologies, and is a seizure, sudden, transient brain dysfunction caused by repeated hyper-synchronous discharges in groups of nerve cells in the brain. The prevalence of pediatric epilepsy is 0.5% to 0.6%. The younger the onset, the greater the damage to brain cells; the more frequent the seizures, the more sequelae they cause. Therefore, once a seizure occurs more than twice, it is important to go to the hospital promptly. Currently, many patients’ families ask why seizures are still not controlled by long-term medication for epilepsy. There are many reasons why epilepsy cannot be controlled for a long time. I found through the analysis of 500 epileptic patients that only 45, or 9%, of the children with epilepsy received formal consultation and treatment the first time after the onset of epilepsy. Then, the remaining 455 had seen a number of “hospital” private clinics, including the application of prescriptions, test prescriptions and so on. They came to our hospital because their seizures were not controlled for a long time, and more than 80% of their disease duration was more than 1 year, and some patients reached about 10 years. The reasons why these patients’ seizures cannot be controlled for a long time are: 1. For example, in children of the same age and seizure type, some children can control their seizures with 2 tablets per day, while some children can control their seizures with 6 tablets per day, and some cannot control their seizures with 8 tablets per day. Therefore, it is important for epilepsy patients to have a combination of parents and doctors to slowly figure out the specific dosage for each child with epilepsy in order to better control seizures. The most important thing is that you should be able to use your own personal computer and be able to use your own computer. The actual fact is that you will not be able to get a lot of money for your own business. This will not only cause another seizure, but will also cause seizure persistence. 6, irregular medication: many doctors who see epilepsy can not choose the appropriate drugs according to the type of seizure of a particular epilepsy patient, and develop a long-term treatment plan, but arbitrarily add drugs, reduce drugs, change drugs or stop drugs, resulting in long-term seizure control or chronic drug poisoning. 7, treatment is not dedicated: many parents do not have firm confidence in the treatment of their children with epilepsy, looking around for prescriptions, watching false advertisements, can not be fixed in a hospital or a doctor for a long time, and so on, because there is no long-term plan, so the epilepsy can not be controlled for a long time. 8. Some epilepsy patients have congenital brain development abnormalities, acquired brain softening or have genetic factors, which are also causes of long-term uncontrollable epilepsy.
