There is a lump inside the anus, this has several possibilities: the first condition, internal hemorrhoids, the lump of internal hemorrhoids is softer, there is no obvious painful venous mass, sometimes do finger diagnosis will have blood on the finger sleeve. The second condition, anal papilloma, this is slightly tougher in texture than internal hemorrhoids, and there is no obvious pain when you do finger palpation and pressure. The third condition, submucosal abscess, is an infection of the submucosa of the rectum, and is particularly painful when done with direct pressure. The fourth condition is a benign rectal tumor, such as a rectal adenoma, which is slightly tougher and has no obvious pressure pain. The fifth condition, acromegaly, has a tough texture and a small mass, mostly the size of a grain of rice. The sixth condition, rectal or anal malignant disease, such as rectal cancer, anal cancer or Paget’s disease, is generally harder in texture and most of them will have bleeding. All of these cases can be clarified by anoscopy, but of course some of them need to do pathology.
