How do you check for nodules?

The presence or absence of nodules can be assessed by physical examination and imaging.

Nodules are round, round-like, or oval confined tissue lesions that can be found in the skin, subcutaneous tissue, glands, and various organs.

In the case of surface nodules, the diagnosis can be clarified by physical examination and color ultrasound of the surface mass; in the case of intra-abdominal organ nodules, the diagnosis can be clarified by color ultrasound and CT of the corresponding area.

Benign nodules mostly have complete peritoneum, smooth borders, tougher texture, and complete peritoneum wrapped around the surface of the nodule after surgical resection. Malignant nodules have unclear borders, irregular shape, rapid growth, no complete periphery, and may grow aggressively around the periphery. If malignant nodules are considered, enhancement CT, nuclear magnetic resonance imaging (NMRI) and PET-CT can be done to confirm the diagnosis.

If you want to know whether there is a nodule, it is recommended to go to the hospital to find a professional physician for a systematic examination, to make a clear diagnosis, and to further determine whether it is necessary to intervene in the treatment.
