Treatment of hyperechoic thyroid nodules

Hypoechoic thyroid nodule is an imaging description, solid hypoechoic is one of the signs of suspected malignancy and can be diagnosed definitively by thyroid puncture biopsy. If the nodule is malignant, surgery may be indicated. If it is benign, it can be reviewed regularly. 1. Benign nodules: Usually, patients do not need to be treated and regular checkups are sufficient. When the thyroid nodule presses on the trachea, esophagus and other parts of the body and is accompanied by uncomfortable symptoms, surgical treatment such as thyroidectomy or subtotal thyroidectomy can be performed according to medical advice. 3. Malignant lesions: malignant lesions such as thyroid cancer can be treated by thyroidectomy and cervical lymph node dissection, and some of the patients who have subtotal resection or total resection of thyroid cancer need to take thyroxine tablets for their whole life according to doctors’ instructions. In addition to the above treatments, patients with thyroid cancer can also be treated with radionuclide therapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy and so on. It is suggested that patients with hyperechoic thyroid nodules should undergo further detailed examination and follow the doctor’s instructions after clarifying the disease.
