How long does it take for water to dry in the ear?

If the patient has no other ear problems, the water will usually evaporate on its own in 1-2 hours after getting into the ear, which may be extended in winter when the temperature is low. If you get water in your ear while bathing, don’t violently jerk your fingers into the outer ear canal or pick at it, try using a cotton swab to dry the water. If there is a lot of water in the ear and the ear feels blocked and stuffy, the patient with water in the left ear can use the right hand to go around the lower forehead, tug on the left earlobe, lift the left foot, land on the right foot alone, and keep bouncing until the water in the left ear flows out naturally; if the patient has water in the right ear, use the left hand to go around the lower forehead, tug on the right earlobe, lift the right foot, land on the left foot alone, and keep bouncing until the water flows out naturally. However, if the patient has a history of purulent otitis media and a perforated eardrum, water in the ear canal can easily induce an infection in the tympanic chamber, resulting in pus in the ear canal. Patients need anti-inflammatory treatment and should visit the ENT department as soon as possible, and the ear can usually be gradually dried up in about 1 week.
