Secondly, proper sunlight exposure and outdoor activities can help calcium absorption. Third, special undershirts can be worn to prevent the exostosis from worsening. Special undershirts may have to be purchased in the specialized pharmacy section. Mild rib ectropion does not require special treatment. With age and improved nutritional status, rib ectropion will stabilize and will not continue to worsen, nor will it affect growth and development. Severe rib ectropion can be corrected with special undershirts.
