What is reflux esophagitis

Reflux esophagitis is an inflammatory reaction caused by the reflux of gastric contents or duodenal contents that enter the mouth and pharynx through the esophagus and irritate the esophageal mucosa. The pathogenesis is generally considered to be related to abnormal esophageal dynamics, relaxation of the lower esophageal sphincter, esophageal sphincter and delayed gastrointestinal emptying. The non-dynamic factors are mainly impairment of the mucosal reflux barrier function and mucosal inflammatory changes caused by the stimulation of the esophageal mucosa by gastric acid and bile. Omeprazole, this drug has a strong gastric acid inhibitory effect, which can reduce the stimulation of the esophageal mucosa by gastric acid in reflux. Cisapride can promote peristalsis and emptying of the gastrointestinal tract by regulating the release of acetylcholine from the gastrointestinal plexus ganglion, effectively reducing gastroesophageal reflux. Prevention and control of reflux esophagitis also need to be carried out through daily life and diet, such as low salt and low fat diet, do not eat cold and spicy stimulating food, quit smoking and alcohol, three regular meals, food should eat more easily digestible, soft food mainly.
