What to do if the common bile duct is widened

Widening of the common bile duct needs to improve the liver and gallbladder enhancement CT, nuclear magnetic bile duct hydrography and other examinations to further clarify the diagnosis, and to clarify the etiology of the active treatment.
The transverse diameter of the common bile duct is about 6-8mm, and if the common bile duct is more than 1cm, it belongs to the widening of the common bile duct. Widening of the common bile duct is most commonly seen in clinical cases such as stones in the common bile duct and tumors in the common bile duct. It can be treated by surgery after clear diagnosis.
1. Choledochal stone: It is recommended to further improve the bile duct hydrographic imaging (MRCP) examination to clarify the biliary pathology, if it is determined to be choledochal stone, then improve the preoperative examination, exclude the contraindication, and perform transendoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ercp) to remove the stone and relieve the bile duct obstruction.
2. Tumor of common bile duct: if it is caused by tumor of common bile duct, it is recommended to improve the MRCP or enhanced CT examination to clarify the tumor situation, and if it meets the indications of surgery, then perform radical cholangiocarcinoma surgery.
In addition, widening of common bile duct can also be seen in congenital bile duct dilatation and other diseases. It is recommended that the patient should go to a regular hospital for a clear diagnosis and systematic diagnosis and treatment.
