Primary dorsal intercostal neuralgia is mainly treated symptomatically, while secondary dorsal intercostal neuralgia requires etiologic treatment on the basis of symptomatic treatment. (2) Local physical therapy: this method is not suitable for intercostal neuralgia secondary to tuberculosis or tumor. In the acute stage, traditional Chinese medicine ion introduction, ultra-short wave, high-frequency electricity, audio and other therapies can be used, and in the recovery stage, ultrasound, nerve block combined with infrared polarized light irradiation, iodine iontophoresis, and various kinds of thermotherapy can be used. (3) Sequestration therapy: It is suitable for people with severe pain or chronic and persistent pain. Paravertebral spinal nerve root block is the best, the effect is accurate, and also has obvious effect on intercostal neuralgia. Secondly, the simpler method is to choose intercostal nerve block. However, there is a risk of pneumothorax. Treatment of intercostal neuralgia in the back is recommended under the supervision of a specialist, and the above medications should be used under medical supervision.
