High monocyte ratio means that it exceeds the upper limit of normal value (normal value of 3%~8%), which can be seen in physiological and also pathologic, such as certain infectious diseases and hematological diseases.
1. Physiologic increase: monocyte increase can be seen in infancy and childhood, and generally does not need to be dealt with.
2. Pathological increase: it can be seen in infectious diseases such as malaria, active tuberculosis, infective endocarditis, recovery from acute infections, etc.; it can also be seen in hematological diseases such as mononuclear cell leukemia, lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndromes, and multiple myeloma.
A single increase in monocyte ratio cannot diagnose a disease. Clinical diagnosis should be made by a professional physician in combination with other hematological indicators, and early consultation is recommended.
