Precancerous lesions of gastric cancer refer to the pathologic histological changes of gastric mucosa which are prone to cancer, mainly heterogeneous hyperplasia of gastric mucosa and intestinal epithelial hyperplasia.
1. Heteroplasia of gastric mucosa: it is intraepithelial neoplasia of gastric mucosa, when heteroplasia epithelium forms flat lesion, it is called heteroplasia of gastric epithelium.
2. Intestinal epithelial hyperplasia: intestinal epithelial hyperplasia of gastric mucosa can be divided into complete small intestinal epithelial hyperplasia, incomplete small intestinal epithelial hyperplasia, and incomplete large intestinal epithelial hyperplasia or colonic epithelial hyperplasia.
The examination of gastric mucosa isoepithelial hyperplasia and intestinal epithelialization generally requires gastroscopy to take samples for biopsy, and the development of intestinal epithelialization, isoepithelial hyperplasia and then gastric cancer, which is called “precancerous lesions”.
Therefore, it is called precancerous lesion of gastric cancer when it is accompanied by intestinal epithelial hyperplasia and ectodermal hyperplasia, and precancerous lesion of gastric cancer when it is accompanied by ectodermal hyperplasia and incomplete colorectal hyperplasia of more than moderate degree.
