How to treat snow blindness

Snow blindness is an inflammatory condition caused by damage to the cornea and conjunctival epithelium from ultraviolet light, characterized by redness and swelling of the eyelids, congestion and edema of the conjunctiva, and intense foreign body sensation and pain. Symptoms include photophobia, tearing and inability to open the eyes, and blurred vision during the onset. Treatment: Eye trauma should be treated as an emergency. For chemical injuries to the eye, the eye should be rinsed immediately with clean water and fully rinsed before further detailed examination, and where the wound is contaminated or deep, appropriate antibiotics and tetanus antitoxin injection should be used. 1.
