Milled glass nodule 3mm refers to the abnormal proliferation of local lung tissue caused by factors such as lung inflammation and infection or tumor. Chest CT shows a cloudy round-like shadow with a diameter of 3mm and a density similar to that of milled glass, which is a benign nodule or neoplasm-like lesion and generally does not require treatment, but requires regular review of the chest CT for observation.
1. Part of the 3mm ground-glass nodules caused by inflammation or infection in the lungs can be absorbed and disappear on their own after anti-infection or observation for a period of time.
2. Long-standing 3mm ground-glass nodules may develop into lung cancer. If chest CT review reveals that the nodule has grown to more than 8mm in a short period of time or the density of pure ground-glass nodules has increased rapidly, surgical treatment needs to be considered.
For 3mm ground-glass nodule, it is recommended to follow up regularly at the thoracic surgery outpatient clinic of the hospital.
